The first three reviews while your plan is being settled are bulk billed, and they can run by telehealth, because your in person visit establishes the relationship with this practice. Reviews then run at one month, at three months, and every six months from there, at $188.60 each.

About Medicare

What do I need to have ready?

Your diagnosis letter from the psychologist, psychiatrist or paediatrician who assessed you, and your current or most recent plan. You will also be asked for your weight, height and blood pressure, emailed ahead of your visit. If a letter is hard to find, book anyway and tell us. It is one of the most common things people ask us about, and our team will help you track it down.

I have a diagnosis and I am ready to start. Where do I fit?

In an initiation consultation, in person at West Pennant Hills. Thirty minutes, $458.32, where your diagnosis and history are reviewed and, where appropriate, your care begins. The first three reviews after it are bulk billed and can run by telehealth. Reviews then run at one month, three months, and every six months at $188.60. Book at least five days ahead — this one cannot be arranged at short notice. What happens on the day is a decision your doctor makes with you.

Can you assess me for ADHD?

Yes. Adult assessment is open, provided by Dr Jaspreet Saini, and it starts with a free pre-intake questionnaire. Assessment for children and adolescents from age six follows a separate, psychologist led pathway. The check at the top of this page puts you on the right route in about a minute.

My child is 12 and already diagnosed. Can you help?

Yes. Continuing ADHD care at this practice starts from age six. Bring the paediatrician or psychiatrist diagnosis and the most recent specialist letter.

Do I have to travel to the practice?

Once, for most people. Continuing care and reviews run by telehealth, and we look after people right across New South Wales, including Newcastle and Wollongong. Starting care, picking it back up after a break, and the first assessment appointment happen in person at West Pennant Hills. That single visit sets up the Medicare rebate on everything that follows by telehealth, so it earns its place.

Do I have to change GPs?

I am in my forties and things changed recently. Is that relevant?

It can be. Attention, memory and sleep often shift during perimenopause, and the picture can look very like ADHD, or can sit alongside it. Rosedale has GPs working in ADHD and in menopause care in the same practice, on the same record, with dietetic support available. One practice can give you one answer.
